Commemorating the life of a true British legend, whose legacy will live on for centuries is a daunting task. Stephen Hawking proved to the world that anything is possible and was arguably one of the most pre-eminent scientists of the last hundred years. Bremont, have worked closely with the Hawking Family to create this stunning series of watches as a fitting tribute to the man who has a fascinating relationship with time.
Recognising the life of Hawking, part of the proceeds from this collection will go directly to The Stephen Hawking Foundation which supports people living with Motor Neurone Disease; the condition Stephen developed in his early 20’s.
This Limited-Edition collection is particularly special; contained in each watch are 4 wooden discs inlaid into the movement. These pieces have been taken from the exact desk which Hawking contemplated the mysteries of the universe at, one of his most treasured possessions.
Other incredible features of the timepiece include meteorite to symbolise the cosmos – visible at the centre of the dial. The watch bezel is adorned with 60, 1.35mm white brilliant cut diamonds totalling 0.70 carat, this is particuarly special as this is the first time that Bremont have used diamonds in any collection, so this is the first of its kind.
A BE-92AV movement with 38-hour power reserve powers this automatic watch which is made from stainless-steel with Bremonts’ signature Trip-Tick technology.
Focusing into the stunning whitened meteorite dial, a date window is positioned at 6 o' clock and is accompanied by diamond hour markers otherwise. The hands are constructed from polished nickel to add a luxurious touch.
Completing the watch is a stainless steel 3-bar bracelet of both satin and polished finish. The bracelet is adjustable to most ladies wrist sizes and is secured by a deployment clasp.
This timepiece is limited to just 88 pieces, referencing the year in which Hawkings released his book ‘’A Brief History of Time’’ (1988). The serial number can be found on the case back, laser engraved onto original Stephen Hawking manuscript paper.
