A newcomer to the Bremont collection, the ionBird is produced to represent the partnership of Rolls Royce in the quest to make the world’s fastest electric plane. Bremont will be the official timing partner of this world record attempt, in a bid to improve the performance of zero-emissions aircrafts. By early 2021 they hope to achieve speeds over 300mph.
Bremont have been involved in the design of the plane’s cockpit which will feature a Bremont stopwatch and the company has even machined canopy release parts at their facility in Henley-on-Thames. The test pilots deserve something special to wear too and with this in mind the ionBird, a dedicated mechanical chronometer will also take flight and you have the chance to own and wear the exact same watch too.
Rolls Royce and Bremont already have close ties, with Rolls Royce owning the Spitfire that was previously owned and operated by the father of the English Brothers; the founders of Bremont. The passion for precision engineering can be found in both companies.
Using Trip-Tick technology, the 43mm case of the ionBird is made from corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel; this ensures chemical resistance and has been tested under environmentally strenuous facilities to ensure efficiency in all circumstances; a perfect protection of the modified calibre 11 1/2” BE-93-2AV automatic chronometer movement, which also features GMT functionality.
A beautiful vintage brown leather strap completes this model, and a polished stainless-steel pin buckle clasp secures the watch, which is adjustable to all wrist sizes. A black dial with bronze and white features has the distinctive Bremont look we have become accustomed too.
