A watch inspired by the skies; the Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot is Oris’s take on an Aviation inspired watch. The First Oris ‘big crown’ was produced in 1938 and still to this day the Big Crown remains an integral part of the Oris family when you consider its past, present, and future.
For the first time, the independent Swiss watch company has given its Big Crown Pro Pilot Big Date fresh flair by casing it in bronze. The warm tones of the new model come from its bronze case, fluted bezel, and signature oversized crown, which are complemented by a deep black dial with printed golden hour markers. The 41mm case, cast in bronze with a fluted bezel, will naturally patina over time. The bronze oxidises, meaning no two watches will look the same having their own unique look over time, as the bronze forms its own colouration with flecks of green and brown.
Readability is obviously key for any aviation or military watch and as such the hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova and the applied hour markers are made from solid Super-LumiNova, creating high contrast and first-class readability. The automatic movement with an oversize ‘big date’ has a 38-hour power reserve. The timepiece is presented on a hard-wearing green Ventile strap with a bronze Oris ‘lift’ clasp inspired by passenger aircraft seat-belt buckles.
Protected by domed sapphire glass and water resistant to 100m each Oris watch also comes with a branded case as well as a three-year international warranty to cover you against mechanical faults.
