Introducing the new Oris Coulson Pro Pilot Limited Edition, an Aviation inspired watch. Venturing into new territories with their latest partnership with aerial firefighters Coulson Aviation, Oris have produced a watch with a 3D-printed carbon fibre case produced using an innovative process that appears in watchmaking for the first time.
Coulson Aviation is the worlds leading aerial firefighting organisation, based in Canada the family run independent company sends pilots, planes and equipment to areas of the world affected by wildfires. Their vision is to crush fires and assist firefighters on the ground and to protect life and the environment. Coulson Aviation was founded in 1960 and over the last four decades has diversified to proprietary technology and innovation to bring effective relief in time-sensitive emergencies.
Marking this partnership Oris has created a limited edition watch based on the Big Crown ProPilot and inspired by the innovation and daring spirit of the two independent companies. One of the standout features of this timepiece is the 41mm carbon fibre case, produced using an innovative, patented 3D printing process never seen before in watchmaking. Devised by Switzerland’s prestigious ETH Zurich university. Printing carbon fibre and a high-grade polymer developed in aerospace called PEKK simultaneously creating an ultra-lightweight tough material. Completing the case is a grey-PVD plated titanium fixed bezel, screw down crown and case back.
Protected by a layer of highly scratch resistant antireflective sapphire crystal glass is a fiery, gradient orange dial, symbolising the perilous environments Coulson’s brave pilots endure. Contrasting white Arabic numerals and hands stand out from the striking background of the dial. A date window sits at 6 o’clock. The open case back, protected by sapphire crystal glass, displays the automatic Oris Calibre 400 movement which boasts an impressive power reserve of 120 hours.
Water resistant to 100 meters and presented on a black fabric strap with grey PVD plated folding clasp. Limited to 1000 pieces this timepiece is supplied with official Oris packaging and a 3-year warranty with the option to extend to 10 years with a MyOris sign-up.
