The Oris x Cervo Volante collaboration is introduced with the Big Crown Pointer Date watches, with a gradient dial inspired by Alpine hues and a strap made of sustainable deer leather
Cervo Volante was founded in 2017 by Kadri Vunder Fontana, a biotechnology engineer, and businesswomen and Conny Thiel-Egenter a biologist specialising in nature protection, wildlife, and habitat management. With the vision to take the waste, specifically deer skins, and transform them into beautiful, hard-wearing, and sustainable footwear and accessories. Oris jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with Cervo Voltane as part of their Change for the Better campaign.
The pointer date function was first introduced in 1938 and remains a symbol of the brand to this day, an unusual complication that highlights the date effective by a central pointer hand. As with all big crown watches, the crown is oversized to allow airmen to easily adjust the settings whilst wearing gloves.
Powered by an Oris 754 base SW 200-1 Oris believe in the true art form of watch making with none of their products featuring battery movements. The automatic timepiece has an impressive 38-hour power-reserve.
Protected by domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass the blue gradient dial is inspired by alpine hues. The contrasting hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova for increased readability. With a 38mm stainless steel case the timepiece is presented on a sustainable deer strap with buckle fastening. The sustainable deer leather, using low impact methods, tells stories in a way typical mass-produced equivalents couldn’t. Keeping the imperfections that occur during the life of a deer in their skins which are never the product of farming and never require chemicals or fertilizers
Complete with a three-year international guarantee and presentation box, each Oris x Cervo Volante timepiece comes with a pouch and card holder made of sustainable deer leather. This watch is water resistant to 50 meters.
