Announced at Watches and Wonder 2023 this new F1 x Gulf special edition watch is bold and energetic, the chronograph builds upon the legendary partnership between TAG Heuer and Gulf.
TAG Heuer is synonymous with the history of Motor Racing, with much of their own history intertwined with many famous racing competitions from around the world. The Formula 1 collection from TAG Heuer is influenced by modern sport and history alike.
This particular Formula 1 celebrates the history and partnership with Gulf Oil, a brand which also has much of its history intertwined with Motor Racing, muchly famed with the likes of the Ford GT40 part of the legendary John Wyer Team. A special edition for 2023 sporting Gulf’s emblematic blue and orange livery.
Configured in the classic Formula 1 chronograph, the brushed finished stainless-steel 43mm case is accentuated by a fixed blue aluminium tachymeter bezel. The case back is finished in great detail, with a special engraving of the Gulf logo.
A blue sunray brushed dial with white counters and a 60 second inner ring is utilised to read the chronograph functionality measuring hours and minutes. The highlighting feature of the dial without question is the duo stripes of light blue and orange for a subtle nod to Gulf and racing fans. A rapid correction date window is placed at the 4 o’clock position. All of this intricate design is displayed behind a flat sapphire crystal with a double of anti-reflective coating.
Within the casing lays the TAG Heuer quartz movement, one of the most reliable and accurate made in Switzerland. Powered by battery an electrical current which runs through the workings causing the quartz crystals to vibrate consistently at a frequency of 32,768 times per second resulting in a precise beat with a variation of just a few seconds per month.
Finishing off the look of this piece is the brushed steel bracelet with double security folding clasp fastening. This timepiece is also water resistant to 200meters.
