New for 2023 as part of LVMH watch week, the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is the perfect watch for endless adventures and exploration. The Aquaracer Professional 200 is all about producing TAG Heuer’s popular mid-range product and creating a more size-down variant, key to the design is the more formal appearance allowing this watch to be your adventurous sports watch, whilst still being smart enough for the week-day job.
TAG Heuer introduced their first solar-powered quartz watch in 2022. Powered by any light source TH50-00 solar movement, created in collaboration with TAG Heuer and La Joux-Perret, provides uninterrupted power for exceptional performance both day and night. This version of the watch (WBP1114.BA0000) is produced in full 316L surgical grade stainless-steel and is a more formal affair compared to its titanium counterpart.
TAG Heuer’s Solargraph movement is known for harnessing the sun, an unlimited energy source and offers many guaranteed benefits. With the Solargraph movement, there is no need to change the watch’s battery: it is recharged by the sun or artificial light. A two-minute exposure to direct sunlight is enough to power the watch for an entire day. Once fully charged, after less than 20 hours in the sun, the watch can run for up to six months with no light exposure. If the timepiece stops ticking, it only needs exposure to any light source for ten seconds to get it started again, thanks to its ultra-efficient recharge time.
The 40mm case is complete with uni-directional bezel which frames a horizontal-lined sunray-brushed black dial which allows light to power the TH50-00 solar movement. The contrasting white hands and hour markers stand out against the deep black dial. The subtle polar blue colour pop is an iconic evocation of the northern lights which illuminate the nights in the Arctic Circle. A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, with the three-hand movement and hour markers are coated with a green Super-LumiNova to ensure increased readability in low light settings.
Key diving features on top of the bezel include the screw down crown to enhance the 200-meter water resistance. Equipped to the watch is a three-link bracelet with deployment clasp fastening, blending timeless style and reliability.
