Arguably TAG Heuers most iconic watch is the ‘Monaco’. Popularised by Steve McQueen for wearing the watch during the 1971 film ‘Le Mans’, the Monaco is distinct in looks by its bold square block case and two counter chronograph. With a sand-blasted texture throughout the black ‘DLC’ or ‘Diamond Like Carbon’ coating is both practical and striking. The super tough grade 2 titanium body and skeleton framework of the dial blends beautifully together to provide the distinct shape and backdrop for the vivid turquoise touches. A little extra red detail is just enough to bring more vibrance without going overboard. A Monaco wouldn’t be a Monaco without the raised sapphire crystal too, we love the look this design element gives to the Monaco collection.
Housed inside the 39mm timepiece and viewable from both the skeleton dial and showcase back the ‘Calibre HEUER02’ automatic movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve is a fully in-house produced movement by TAG Heuer in Switzerland. You can also see the personalised version of the oscillating mass and column wheel with a special engraving coloured to match the rest of the dial.
Completing the sporty but sophisticated look of the watch, expertly combining calfskin leather and rubber for maximum versatility, the embossed black strap is equipped with a black DLC folding clasp. Water resistant to 100m, this timepiece comes with official TAG Heuer Monaco packaging and a special travel pouch.
