The Monaco Gulf’s story begins with the passion for the top-tier of motorsport, the Gulf brand became iconic in the world of racing thanks to its defining livery of vibrant blue and vivid orange which adorned the teams that it sponsored. In a new refined edition one of TAG Heuers most awaited watches is back! Announced at Watches and Wonders, Geneva in March 2022 the co-creation of the iconic Monaco made with their partner Gulf wears the legendary colours and design of the Gulf brand.
Protected by domed sapphire crystal glass the dial features the iconic colours with a contemporary twist. The dark blue, turquoise, and orange feature throughout the detailing of the dial ensuring this is a standout statement piece! Featuring in an elegant new way the Gulf accents can also be seen on the minute sub-counters. A date window is positioned at 6 o’clock and as a nod to the racing number on the Porsche Gulf racing cars the 12 o’clock index is replaced by the number ‘60’. For increased readability the hour markers and hands are filled with Super-LumiNova
The fine brushed and polished steel 39mm case houses the Calibre HEUER02 automatic movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve. A clear case back showcases the movement with the personalised version of the oscillating mass and column wheel with a special engraving coloured to match the Gulf orange.
Completing the sporty but sophisticated look of the watch, the strap is made with blue calfskin leather with an orange lining. The strap features the different sized holes, a reflection of the design originally fitted to Monaco models in the 1970s.
Water resistant to 100m, this timepiece comes with official TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf packaging and a special travel pouch.
