A 1970s throwback! The Tissot PR516 Chronograph Quartz model is a remake of a 1970s popular design. Sleek and sporty, its chronograph features are in keeping with the Tissot style.
Links between Tissot and the race track have had connections from the very beginning, in 1958 Harry Zweifel Swiss Formula 2 racing driver, sent Tissot a signed photograph in 1958, which he wrote: “Meine Tissot ist an jedem Rennen dabei” which translates to “My Tissot is by my side at every race”.
In its first launch in 1965, we saw inspiration from the racing track in a first for watch brands, the PR516 bracelet holes were a take on the racing car steering wheel. Many other brands took inspiration from this in future designs. For a classic yet modern look, the blue and stainless steel colourway will be a stunning addition to your collection. Beautifully engraved at the back of the case, it pays homage to the vintage Tissot PR516 design.
Featuring a mineral bezel, with a useful tachymeter coated with Super-LumiNova®️ for high visibility. The present design features an interchangeable quick-release bracelet that makes it easy to change up your look to a rubber or leather strap, without the need for a watch tool.
The precise timekeeping is powered by a quartz movement. The practical and sporty chronograph movement features an EOL (battery end-of-life indicator), Central 60-second chronograph hand, 30-minute and 1/10 of a second counters, ADD and SPLIT functions. Water resistance up to 100 meters, with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal anti-reflective coating glass, made to Swiss standard.
