Deep under the ice and snow of the Canadian Arctic, diamonds have been discovered close to the remote and beautiful town of Yellowknife. Many of these rough diamonds are sent to Antwerp – the world’s largest diamond trading centre, where they are sold on the international markets before being sent around the world to be cut and polished.
A select proportion of the diamonds are retained to be cut and polished in modern state-of-the-art factories in Canada where the standards demanded from the diamond cutters are the highest we have experienced anywhere in the world. The result such as this, a 0.70ct pear cut diamond of exquisite brilliance and beauty.
Every diamond is given a serial number when it is mined. This number follows it through the cutting and polishing process and is laser engraved on its girdle. This and the accompanying certificate from the Canadian government is an absolute guarantee that the diamond was MINED, CUT and POLISHED in Canada.
Peter Jackson, our Managing Director personally selects his favourite diamonds and will then choose whether to set them in 18 carat Gold or Platinum and in what style. Handset in 18ct white gold, the lustre of the gold compliments the purity of the sparkle. Peter, our manging director, has chosen this 3-claw set mount to present the diamond in a modern design featuring diamond set shoulders with a total carat weight of 0.15.
A pear cut diamond, a hybrid of the oval and marquise cut has 58 facets offering exceptional white light reflection, also known as brilliance. The pear cut is difficult to master and takes gem cutters many years of practice to perfect and features beautiful fire, showing the full spectrum of colours to sparkle from the 0.70ct diamond.
Every ring is a one-off and has been set and polished by one of our appointed craftsmen. Once you have chosen your ring, we will adjust it to the correct size for you.
